The Lost Cat

Muning, a fluffy orange cat, loved playing and exploring her backyard. One sunny afternoon, her curiosity led her on an adventure. She squeezed under the fence and found herself in a maze of unfamiliar streets. The world was much bigger and louder than her usual stomping ground. Muning felt a pang of fear. She was lost. Meows escaped her throat, a desperate plea for someone to hear her.

Meanwhile, Muning's owner, Brando, realized his furry companion was missing. Panic surged through him. He called her name, searching every nook and cranny in the backyard. When despair began to creep in, a flash of orange fur caught his eye behind a bush. Relief washed over him as he ran towards it, calling Muning's name.

Muning, overjoyed at hearing the familiar voice, purred loudly, and rubbed against Brando's legs when he scooped her up. Back in her haven, Muning snuggled cheerfully in Brando's arms, feeling safe and loved. The little adventure reminded her that even familiar places could seem scary when one is lost. It was best to stay close to home, or better yet, with her beloved owner.

The Lion and the Mouse (A Classic Tale by Aesop)

Years and years ago, once there was a lion sleeping in the forest under a big tree. A mouse, who lived in the forest too, started playing while moving up and down the lion’s body. She also accidentally ran across the lion’s nose once.

This soon awakened the lion, and he held the little mouse in his paws. The mouse began to tremble as he knew that the lion was angry and could kill him right there. "Pardon, O King!" pleaded the little mouse. "Forgive me this time. I shall never repeat it, and I shall never forget your kindness. Who knows, I may be able to give you a good turn one of these days!”

The lion was somehow in a good mood. Hence, he set the mouse free from his paws. Yet he could not be more amused by the idea of how a tiny mouse could ever help the king of the jungle.

After a few days, the mouse suddenly heard the roar of the lion. When she went to look at what’s the matter, she found out that the lion was captured and trapped in a net by his prey. Seeing the lion in such a condition, she immediately started gnawing the ropes of the net until it freed the lion.

The lion thanked the little mouse. But the mouse was happy that she could finally repay her debt for sparing her life once. Since then the lion and mouse became good friends.

Ang Alamat ng Pinya (The Legend of the Pineapple)

A long time ago when pineapple was not yet known to anyone. In a faraway village, there lived a mother and daughter, Aling Rosa and her daughter named Pinang. She is ten years old. Her father died when she was young.

Aling Rosa wants her to grow up obedient and hardworking. So she is teaching her life lessons at a very early age. She would teach her household chores but Pinang easily gets tired. Because they were the only two left living together, Aling Rosa most of the time will just let it go.

One day Aling Rosa was not feeling well and was bedridden. She cannot do household chores so she asks Pinang to cook for them. And like before, Pinang's enthusiasm for doing the chores is bland, in her mind she would rather want to play instead.

Pinang has no choice but forced to follow her mother being on the bed and having hard time getting up but before she even starts to cook, she asked her mother where the cooking ladle is. A minute later and she came back asking where the other cooking utensils are. And not a bit after - she came back again asking for another utensil.

Out of anger, Aling Rosa - weak and lying on the bed unable to control her composure shouted Pinang and tell her to look using her eyes and not her mouth and swearing she wished she could have as many eyes to help her find anything she is looking for.

Pinang keeps herself quiet for the whole day and never bothers her mother again. By noon, her mother was feeling better and able to carry herself. She gets up looking for Pinang inside their house but can't find her.

She went outside and still couldn't find Pinang, and then she found her slippers near a plant she never saw before. There are many eyes around it or at least looks like eyes. And she remembers what she said to Pinang that she wished she has more eyes for her to see thing she's looking for.

Aling Rosa was saddened that her words came true. She took care of the plant like it was her daughter and named it Pinang - in memory of her daughter. Years later and the plants multiplied. Her neighbors started calling the plant "pinya" and to these days... We call it Pinya.

Panahon ng Pagbabago (Bagong Pilipinas Hymn) Lyrics

Panahon na ng pagbabago
Dahil sa ito ay kinakailangan

Tayo na magtulong-tulong
Na paunlarin ang mahal nating bayan

Panahon na ng pagababago
Dahil sa ito ay kinakailangan
Tayo na matulong-tulong
Na paunlarin ang mahal nating bayan

Panahon na ng pagbabago
At iayos ang mga dapat ayusin
Dapat lang maging tungkulin
Ng Bawat mamayan dito sa atin

Gawin ang pagbabago
Patungo sa pag-asenso
Magsikap na Mabuti
At ng guminhawa tayo
Ipagmalaki natin sa mundo at ipamalas
Ang Bagong Pilipino at Bagong Pilipinas

Panahon na ng pagbabago
Tangkilikin natin ang sariling atin
At tama lang na ugaliin
Kaysa sa iba sa atin ang unahin

Panahon na ng  pagbabago
At manguna sa kahit anong larangan
Ang tagumpay ay karangalan
Ialay o ihandog natin sa bayan

Classroom Observation for SY 2022-2023

Face-to-face classes are back in the Philippines and so classroom observations are back, too! Have you got your schedule for pre-conference and class demonstration? I just had it all recently and I would like to share my experience with you.

Quick background: I am a Grade 6 Teacher, Class Adviser of the first section, and handling English classes promoting the School Paper of Igpit Elementary School. Thus, I chose the English subject for the Classroom Observation because I am more comfortable with it. Since we are still in the first quarter, I chose the topic "Real vs Make-Believe". I already had a video lesson on this last year and I posted it on our YouTube Channel.

However, since my class demonstration would be conducted in a face-to-face manner, I had to revise some parts of the lesson plan. I added some games to make the presentation lively. I had a "Mystery Box" containing images for learners to guess whether they were real or make-believe. We played "Fall in Line" for sentences that needed to be identified as real or make-believe. And I presented more updated movie trailers for them to identify fantasy from reality, fiction from non-fiction, as these adopted the same concepts as real and make-believe.

Fortunately, I was able to present the lesson well. I got very good remarks from our School Principal.

Update: VClass TV joins hand with other channels

I started with VClass TV with the intention of just making educational content to share with my learners, but it turned out that there were other viewers who watched my videos and so the content expanded.

There were times when I showcase lessons in elementary, but there were also times that I feature the normal days of my life.

Before I knew it, I had grown my passion for video editing and vlogging and I had spread my influence around.

To date, I work with my husband's channel: Barrio Thinker, showing the barrio lifestyle we have, the ordinary setting of our lives, and the uniqueness of our neighborhood.

Not only that, our neighbors joined forces as Mananggiti MP4 where cool Visayan entertainment is presented.

I never expected that it would spring out like this because I really thought I would just keep myself behind doors. But yeah, let's all team up for good!
